About Me

Nikki Groff's Story

I began playing piano under the instruction of accomplished and award-winning pianist Vera Watson. While studying at the two time Grammy Award winning high school, Douglas Anderson School of the Performing Arts, I began to teach privately while also teaching group lessons at Pine Forest Elementary School of the Arts.

After high school, I went on to gain a degree in Piano Performance at the University of Florida under Steinway artist and acclaimed concert pianist Dr. Kevin Orr.

Upon entering the “real world,” I put my second degree to work and began a career in advertising. In 2009, uninspired by the desk job and feeling a strong pull back to music, I decided to pursue teaching piano full time. Thus, Nikki’s Piano Studio was born.

I am lucky to have found my passion and hope to inspire and influence my students to foster a lifelong love of music and the piano.

Professional Organizations

I am a proud member of and active participant in the JMTA (Jacksonville Music Teachers Association), a chapter of the MTNA (Music Teachers National Association), having served as their historian. I have also served as secretary and treasurer for other local MTNA organizations.
